I’ve been a huge fan of bicycle culture since I was 8 years old, rocking my purple ride with unicorn-details and a banana-seat. Those were the days. Now, I’m a little more grown up with my new Public bike and an appreciation for commuters (especially in a desert sprawl city like Phoenix).
About a week ago Paul brought the Bike Fixtation to my attention. You can see some more photos at Toxel. Currently in Minneapolis, it would be awesome if we could get something like this in the highly trafficked areas of Tempe and Phoenix.
While most riders already have small fix kits with them and can get their tires filled for free at QT, it would be helpful to have air, patch kits, tire slime, or more tools available together and outside of regular business hours. Just the other night, Paul and I had to drive to two big-box stores near midnight to find sealant, when it would have been more time and gas efficient to grab it at a bike station.
So to all my #PHX friends, how do you think these would fare in our city?
